I think it's less about the distro and more about the DE. I prefer KDE myself.

depends on your needs and resources. i like debian based for consumers/home use and red hat or centos for corporates that want to pay for enterprise license support.
I’m always running Debian, Ubuntu, or Qubes.
I've been recently using MX Linux, and like it.
The best part is that it uses sysvinit.
For which purpose ? I’m using Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, I’m basically a boring user : mails, editing and creating documents , media consumption, note taking…I migrated from windows 11 to this, and it’s just perfect.
