this is what *someone i know* says. she wants her kids to learn evolution in school and does not like other explanations of human origin. she wants keep them from falling into conspiracy theories
this worries me because
a) kids rebel from parents--if she wants them a practicing agnostic, probably a great way would be to make them go to church every week.
b) kids without any spiritual training can be manipulated by charisma:
what happens when a tall blond, blue eyed Mormon boy stares down at her daughter "i'm connected with God through secret rituals at church, and you can be connected with the church through me". Honestly, maybe not a bad deal for the daughter but that is still prob not ideal.
what if the kid feels kinda feel deep down that they are more than material, but never had anyone give them a spiritual basis (archetypes, parables). people will get diagnosed for psychological disorders instead of just realizing they are spiritual creatures that have been malnourished by the system that avoids "religious organisations".
