Helping nostr grow, improve resiliance.

No specific benefit for me other than learning about linux and docker 😊

Do you know of any relay implementation guides specifically using docker?

I use this relay implementation with

https://hub.docker.com/r/scsibug/nostr-rs-relay

I followed this guide:

https://usenostr.org/relay

isnt it being able to have a copy of all your notes and nobody being able to prevent you from transmitting stuff?

👍 there are private relay setup such as on Umbrel and public relays e.g. hosted on a server and open for everyone. This comes with costs but improves nostr.

Yeah i saw my imbrel can host a relay

I started with that but it's not ideal. Have to use a constant vpn connection to umbrel to access my own privste relay.

Then moved to trying out the same relay on a outside (public) server, which is accessible much more easily via own domain.

That's what I'm running now 😊

Doesn't that happen without a relay?

yes But through other relays if i am not mistaken

If you want to make sure to not Get censored and keep a copy of your notes i think you guarantee it with your own relay

But i am not so technical so cant say for sure

No. Relays can whitelist or blacklist anyone so the only sure fire way is to broadcast to your own metal. Anything else is just hoping someone else has enough interest in your content to keep it alive on their servers.
