Wow, what do you use for the materials on the paths? Is that shed area near the road a chicken coop or what?
Lots of wood chips from the local tree guys for the pathways and between beds. They are a great source of organic matter that slowly breaks down and get incorporated into beds.
The small white building next to the driveway is our farmstand. You can just make out the chicken coop (in their chickmobile) in the middle of the field, we rotationally graze them throughout the summer.
You have a beautiful property. I'm only 2.5 years into mine so I hope I can get there someday. Focused on converting my brush into pasture now so mostly working with a chainsaw these days. But I have a big shop I want to section off a bit into for a farm stand and put a walk in cooler/freezer in. Hoping i can coast at my current job while I get all that in place before going full time farm in 4 years.
GL! This is our 4th season growing here, it's taken tons of work to get it there. And that's going full-time so we've moved pretty quick. Implementing no-dig permanent beds from the start was HUGE, we started laying out and planting the garden in April of our 1st season and by June were already selling to the local coop and restaurants. Labor of love to be sure, but I can't imagine doing anything else. 🤙
