🙄🤦Unreal... so, I ust got off the phone with my cousin in Scotland. She laughed and attempted to explain to me how I "sound mad" after I finished explaining the depth of facial recognition technology.

I don't understand people who suggest it's mad to want more privacy 🤷🏽‍♀️

It's a combination of certain influential circumstances:

1. Global media outlets have done an outstanding job at convincing the masses that technology such as facial recognition tech exists to protect them.

2. They've been convinced that government and corporate obedience will lead to their happiness in the long-term.

3. Society, as a whole, is just too lazy to take action against these ruling powers.

4) Scotland is part of Authoritarian Britain and the Subjects are behaving like good little Subjects.

Yes, but the worrisome bit is that they don't seem to care. The masses seem to fail to understand the long-term consequences of adhering to such an extreme level of indifference. Our children will undoubtedly suffer for it.

Sad but true.

I like what you had to say but I think there's room for nuance in your first two points.

1. Global media outlets have convinced people they should be scared that the person behind them in the line at the shops is probably a terrorist, thus all government spying is necessary for their safety. Despite increases in spying powers admittedly not foiling any terrorist plots.

2. They've been convinced that any inconvenience created by desiring privacy is not worth it because they are happier living in their own algorithms. What they actually are becoming is more politically polarised with each side dehumanising the other. This more than anything will probably lead to WW3 or the decline of western nations....

1. You are, .most certainly, correct to a certain extent. Geographic and geopolitical circumstances greatly affect this.

2. Personally, I believe WW3 is already in it's early stages. 🤷‍♂️

1. I spose you're right I can only speak to what I've seen and my areas of research. Alot more data exists for societies deemed more important.

2. Maybe.... Maybe not... Depends on whether or not enough polarisation, propoganda, and dehumanisation has occurred to sustain a war that will be well televised and streamed so that all see the consequences and ignore their humanity in spite of it. Current wars are probably just desensising us to scenes from live battle fields.
