1. Backpack - from the Inktober prompt list.

This is my first attempt at isometric art. I used the grid native to Procreate (30 degrees) to block this out … more than once. Given that this took me 1.5 hours, I’m not going to spend time “finishing” it (inking, colors, details). I want to practice getting the objects correct on the grid first, before tackling the other stuff, so for this month, my daily practice will be a bunch of angled stuff.

This is really rad! I haven’t drawn on a grid in so long I’m out of practice

So much harder than I thought it would be. 😅

I ended up drawing rectangles, then had to color the sides so I didn’t end up on the wrong line, then faded those layers back and drew the outline.

The handle was drawn on its own then moved into place. The straps were the most difficult.

One very cool thing is once I draw something (latch strap) I can just copy paste it and move it into position and it’s correct; no messing with perspective. 👍

Looking forward to seeing how a month of practice can help me improve. ✍️
