So this filter relay sounds useful when traveling, but then I guess you need to use a client that can temporarily ignore all the other relays? (or only use the other relays on wifi)

That would actually be a nice feature in phone clients. A low-bandwidth mode that lets you select which relays to connect to. Preferably you could also turn off automatic media loading too.
