OnlyZap was a feature released on Damus that not only turned likes off but removed them totally as an option for the user. Other plebs could not zap their notes.
This sparked a huuuuuuge debate. Honestly weβre all still thinking about it. There is value in the likes, there is also danger (addiction, data mining β¦)
But for example introverts seem to really like them. It.s a silent a silent way of saying: I am here listening, I exist.
The onlyzap experiment made me comment more. The result, I am even more addicted. π€£
I altso wonder what clients like eg primal and existing clients implementing more 'trending' content-finding will bring to the current chronology timeline. I also think you could describe certain aspects of a social media as inescapably but more human algorithm. Clout, simping, parasocial relationships etc wtcbyadda yadda already exist and are a sort of human algorithm of sorts maybe. Welcome to my #420 ted talk lol

I agree. I think I was just making an unnecessary addendum maybe lolol that even below a 'human algorithm' lies a structure of relationships tied to /exaggerated by social media and probably predating social media. Just acknowledging it really Β―β \β _β (β γβ )β _β /β Β―
