Cool. Thanks for the advice on sizing and the info on power requirements. And validation of the brand research I’ve done. I can’t wait to get one. Considering the relatively few parts, it almost seems like the price of the units is purposely denying access to the technology to the masses. If every household could quickly lay up 3 months of rations, it could destabilize the labor market and give people another way to say No.

They've drastically come down in price over the years. Considering inflation a large would cost me half of what i bought it for.

I think there just aren't that many companies manufacturing them. So its a scaling issue. But thats just a guess

Yes for sure. But don’t make me go taking off my tinfoil hat lol.

Thanks I’d like to learn more about the viability of doing perfectly pre-grilled steaks and gourmet things like lasagna and what the rehydration process might yield in terms of an appetizing meal if a guy got the packaging right. I have to do exhaust a bunch of resources on the Internet first.

Biggest lesson. Fat wont freeze dry. I forget what the exact % is but less than 3% fat content into the dryer.

So cut all the fat off. And limit creams and such.

Thats the Achilles Heal of FD goods. You have to save fats other ways.

Ghee and Coconut oil are my go to for shelf fats. And i freeze my butter and tallows.
