Everyone of sane mind agrees that children should be barefoot so they don’t stunt their feet with fiat footwear… but if a child *must* wear shoes (e.g. in an airport), what are the best shoes for kids with a wide toe box that won’t destroy their feet?

VIBRAM FIVEFINGERS 🙌

I second that. The best choice for children as well as adults. Barefoot or Vivobarefoot

Attipas shoes is what we use for our kid’s footware

Robeez. Soft soles 100% leather.

Only found at non-chain small business children's boutiques.

This for NB through 2yo.

Crocs for the win.

We like www.vivobarefoot.com/de/kids/

Xeros

Fivefingers are fine but xero shoes last longer in my experience.

Striderite when they are very little, when they hit preschool age, Vivobarefoot or Xero

For places like airports, these leather moccasins are great. You can get them on Amazon. They come in many different colors. They are flexible and very wide at the toe. My son is 2.5 yr and is barefoot only unless he wears these. :-)

You know this gives off “Barney ruble vibes”… bam bam.

And I’m here for it BTW.

I’m cool with that vibe

Handstands all day. With gloves of course

Altra is a great brand with zero drop and wide toe box

https://www.vivobarefoot.com/ and https://www.wildling.shoes/en for all from kids to adults (10 yrs wearing barefoot shoes and these 2 brands are just the most comfortable and durable imo), and for the very first steps Bobux are great (no personal experience though 😜).

In most cases, just going a size or two larger takes care of it.

Or use those socks with tread on the bottom.
