Living in the high desert off-grid comes with some unique parts of living that aren't discussed much outside of our communities. One of these is water hauling, which we had to do today. It's pretty cheap, it's about $2.50 to fill an 330 gallon IBC tote and the fill area is about 25 minutes from our property.

We'll eventually have a well drilled but it's a hefty price tag, going rate in our are is $50,000 for a 300ft well. So first we'll put in rainwater catchment, better for our garden then the we'll water anyways, not anywhere near as hard as the we'll water is.

I had a property in Elko CO NV and put a well in it. I only paid about 25k (leveraged) which blew my mind, and that was only a couple years ago. I could hardly sell the damn property for less than the cost of a well today lol go figure

We lived outside of Carson for about ten years. The wells in Northern Nevada can be insane too. My husband had a buddy that had to go 800ft and he's thinking it was about $80,000. That blew my mind...
