He's not technically right. The context here was this guy accusing me of considering USD numbers a metric of value. I gave pretty concrete evidence I don't do that. He or she was the one that brought up USD.
Discussion
But his point stands. Youre measuring in USD.
Everything is measured in USD. So we have no other measuring sticks anymore. Gold maybe. But even that price takes into account the USD price if the asset.
We can't escape measuring in USD right now.
An individual can change their unit of account, but the works still runs on USD
But doggiecoin's ROI isn't the devaluation of USD, it's the adoption of doggie coin.
The devaluation of USD adds to the USD measurement of the ROI only because that's not a real measurement.
People measuring ROI in USD have nothing to do with the fact that doggie coin's ROI is so much higher than Bitcoin's. That's driven by doggie coin adoption
Yeah. Sure it is.....
Have a pleasant night.
If you're saying you didn't read the context, you should do that instead of condescendingly pretending to wish me a pleasant night.
If you're saying all the perceived ROI in dogecoin is actually just the value of gold somehow being attached to the value of USD, you should defend that position instead of condescendingly pretending to wish me a pleasant night.
Choosing to be annoying instead of having a proper discussion isn't canceled out by the empty words "have a pleasant night."
His point definitely doesn't stand at all, it's entirely him pretending I believe shit I don't believe
no.
you're measuring in USD regardless of what you believe.
1. That's not true
2. If it was true, it wouldn't change that you're accusing me of believing shit I don't believe, specifically that USD numbers are actual value
which is why you were going on and on about ROI in doge.
obviously very not concerned with USD numbers 👍
I guess repeating myself won't help since you can't read, but here are these 2 posts I showed you earlier about this (as njump links again since one was having a hard time showing in nostrudel - why are you making me repeat all this?)
Do you have a counterexample where I've made an infographic or something substantial denominated in USD? nostr:npub1lxzaxzge0jq9u9cecucctdt5lslwgp7hcxmp2l0wn8r2ecjenwasu6svxa
your bullshit here IS measured in USD
prices are measured in USD.
you failed to understand what I said *at the very beginning of the conversation*
I guarantee you can't prove this with screenshots or anything because it isn't correct. The record will reflect that you brought up USD when I hadn't mentioned it or anything related to it except in that it's a currency.
To be clearer for anyone just joining in now, I hadn't even mentioned that USD is a currency, I just hadn't mentioned it at all and we were discussing currency which is the closest thing to a reason to bring it up
(but still not really a reason - if this seems confusing, feel free to click back through and scroll up in the context and read)

Your point doesn't stand though, as I just demonstrated.
You don't have any counterexamples where I take USD seriously as a measure of value, because I don't.
lol
sorry bro
nobody can help you
when you divide the USD price of Doge
by USD price of Bitcoin
you are still measuring in USD.
even though its written DOGE/BTC
good luck.
Where are you getting the idea that I divide the USD price of doge by the USD price of Bitcoin? What are you smoking?
And why did I just let this idiot make me say "price" instead of "exchange rate" like Bitcoin and doge aren't valid currencies... smh
we keep going in circles and its not really very interesting for me. there are only so many different ways I can explain it.
your graphs are fiat denominated.
your ROI is fiat denominated.
I'm not interested in those things.
thats why I dont fuck with doge.

My graphs aren't fiat denominated. I showed you my gold-denominated graphs and you have no fiat-denominated counterexamples because there aren't any.
Explaining yourself in different ways is indeed not going to change reality. You should learn to admit fault.
Meanwhile, have fun staying poor.
"gold denominated" lol
how is the price of gold denominated?
you literally think you divide the USD price of Doge by the USD price of gold and *poof*
gold denominated! no fiat anywhere 😂

1. The fact that you price gold in USD doesn't mean I do. How many times do I have to repeat that?
2. The USD exchange rate of doge doesn't factor into it, why would it?
3. Why do you keep calling an exchange rate a "price," even with Bitcoin? That only makes sense if you think Bitcoin isn't a valid currency
please explain how you calculate different ROI of Doge and Gold,
without using USD.
ill wait.
1. You've dodged question 1, yet used a condescending "I'll wait" to imply I would dodge your attempt at a counter-argument.
2. You've dodged question 2, yet used a condescending "I'll wait" to imply I would dodge your attempt at a counter-argument.
3. You've dodged question 3, yet used a condescending "I'll wait" to imply I would dodge your attempt at a counter-argument.
4. Libraries in most of the world offer free access to the internet where you don't need any currency, let alone USD. You could probably go to one of those libraries, then use the data in the CSV I linked. If you don't have my pre-compiled CSV, you could try to find one from someone else, or do what I did: search for all the related data and use a calculator, or compile the data in a spreadsheet tool like LibreOffice, or whatever the device you're using will allow you to access.
5. Does asking me about the free internet access at the library have something to do with the context where you were replying, or would you like to stop dodging points and apologize for your bullshit?
answer the question or GTFO
I use Australian dollars.
US dollars don't even exist to me
There's a bot on here that does a Bitcoin to gold price every hour or so.
It does not mention USD or any state backed currency, just how much gold you can get for how much Bitcoin.
😑
what exactly do you think the "gold price" is denominated in?
AUD are denominated in USD
gold is denominated in USD
dividing the USD price of Bitcoin by the USD price of gold doesn't make USD not exist.
crazy I know...
The whole world don't even use USD.
The petro dollar days are over.
USD is just a debt token.
Do not invest in the bond market right now, trust me there is going to be a major dip soon.
You should be putting all your USD into something else, land livestock seeds Bitcoin foreign currencies Gold silver(no not some bullshit stock market gold I mean in your hand, 24karate bands that you can easily cut up with a pair of pliers for trading, and old silver coins, the smaller the better.
Your country's economy is on the brink of collapse, any damn day now.
Any gold in the stock market or anything like that you think you own will just be seized, any Bitcoin that's on an exchange or any other alt utility stable shit meme or whatever else kind of coin on an exchange it will all just be seized overnight when the economy goes toilet. Cash will be worthless.
And I know you fuckers will be dragging the west down with you and my economy will go the same way because our leaders here are spineless cucks for Israel all the same.
