using primary alkaline batteries to recharge or power devices is a real use case; like a burner phone reserved for gps in back-country situations, you need to be able to carry a quantity of alkaline batteries and recharge in the field over a span of days or weeks. Obviously not important for most people in most situations, but still, a real use case for those who need it.
