An orange pill inside the purple Nostr pill is what will ultimately be absorbed by everyone joining Nostr.
I often say the purple pill helps the orange pill go down much easier.

Honestly, at this point in using Nostr, I see inherit value in having my route to zaps being dispersed among multiple separately affiliated services
Never used it but it always felt like some stupid twist on tinder. Glad to have nostr though lol.

me? no one locally uses nostr or bitcoin. i did however find a new friend that lives about 45 minutes away who is a bitcoiner and a nostrich through local word of mouth. we've since become friends. he signed up for OPA and found that another OPA users 2 hours away 😆

Thanks Derek, we're definitely keeping a close tab on Nostr. As far as we can tell there are technological challenges in building a geolocated app with private DMs on Nostr. I've asked nostr:npub1l2vyh47mk2p0qlsku7hg0vn29faehy9hy34ygaclpn66ukqp3afqutajft to confirm our assumptions.

no worries, if we wanted to build OPA on Nostr, we would need to create a client (relay?) that has 3 main components
1) completely paywalled
2) pull users' device approx geolocation on every app launch (to show nearby users)
3) users can only communicate with each other via private DM (no feed)
Would this be feasible?
