I was warning people about Binance a year ago. I wasn't being a hater; I saw bad things coming, and was confident. Looking back, I should have been more vocal about it. Morality in cryptocurrency seems to have been a gamble on its own for years now already, though.
It is more easily accessible to the masses than something like Nostr. I think the majority of people couldn't understand relays, even if you held a gun to their head, metaphorically
So many good technologies being made for programming in development, as usual.
I can't wait for SolidStart to finally have a production release. I'd already use Solid before React, or any of the other frameworks, on any day. I'd also like to try HTMX for something more simple. I think it will catch on fast for static pages.
Carbon is a language Google is making to replace C. It's a long way away from production, but I'm still excited to see where it will go. I'm sure it is still very lesser known, as well.
Welcome to the party! I'd suggest looking into good relays and getting a zap wallet going to really get the full experience.
While Nostr is the GOAT and I will always be on here, you can also find me on Threads (for now at least) with the username: _zigg.
Yes, money poured into for-profit institutions that are making 0 returns to their communities, generated more poor people than educated people, ten-fold.
What it's like being in my mid-20's in 2023:
Old people think I'd be shocked and confused to see a VHS tape, and I'm a punk kid who doesn't like to work.
Teenagers think I aspire to be an old man who mows my lawn for fun because I listen to Deftones, and that I let work consume my life.
I started as a line cook. I did that for a long time and got tired of it, so I learned everything I could about computers and programming, and ended up developing websites. Working 7 days a week wasn't my style, so I began at the bare ass bottom of the finance industry so I could only work 6. I'll never forget how the lady, at the bank interview, told me about how I can't develop Bitcoin software, because it would be a conflict of interest.
Only 2 years later, I'm now providing digital marketing and sales hiring management for an entire business franchise (and working on any damn Bitcoin project I want lol). My career has been a rollercoaster
If the SEC chairman gets kicked, I will start a Bitcoin mining operation the next day. Maybe not exactly, but that's how I feel.
Space exploration is federal spending, while charity for the homeless is state spending. Both are separately limited by budgets. The federal government writes California, I'm assuming, a blank check, to solve things they see necessary, such as charity for homelessness. What the state of California actually does with that blank check is another story. I'd look into that. I can assure you that NASA has nothing to do with it.
Okay. Well, charity and natural science studies are two separate industries, responsible of separate developments. Can we not walk and chew gum at the same time, so to speak?
Do you mean we really shouldn't be focused on exploring Mars, or is it a context clue to you being in disbelief of NASA?
I don't know if anyone has seen anything I haven't, but Snowden has been real quiet. I wish nothing but good health and wellbeing for the guy.
I have a distant cousin who tried really hard to be a rapper. He failed because instead of focusing on originality, he cared more about his leased sports cars, spray-tan wife, and trying to ride the coat tails of bigger artists by getting features.
One time, he really said something about it, though, that has stuck with me. He compared trying to maintain a social media following to "feeding the beast". And he said that if you miss a single day, you get forgotten about.
I think about that saying of his when I look at big tech social media algorithms. I think Nostr saves us from those kinds of shackles of communication and wanting to meet new people on the internet.

Ngl, stressful days hit way different now that I'm in a management position at a job. It makes me see how easy it was for managers I've previously worked for to be rude and condescending to me. Just a thing on my mind. Stay humble
