Probably not... Some things are too complicated. We're getting close though as most apps are now web apps.

The year of the Linux desktop was 2010. That's when it became usable to the point of being better and more efficient that MS Win.
The linux desktop was always better, still use fvwm2 on most machines.
Just don't use shitty software like adobe or ms office and you're fine.
Thing that hindered linux desktop most was the unwillingness of people to pay 50$ for non-free printer drivers, that's my ipinion.
I've been using Linux off and on since the late 90s as a desktop. It's...not for everyone. Honestly, the best Linux desktop for the average person is Chrome OS. I personally enjoy Elementary OS and Linux Mint.
Yes and no. It was still a little rough around the edges. And if something broke it was difficult to fix. #Linux #Mint cinnamon with #Timeshift is pretty polished today..🐧
