When I want to talk to my doctor, I don't care which hospital she is working for.

Asking me to figure out where she is at so that I can log into their half-baked patient portal to get my prescription renewed is ridiculous.

This is why we need NIP-82

I agree

Absolutely.

To be honest, in a more developed country like Brazil the doctor will just write a prescription with pen and paper and hand it to you, but I understand that for the shithole countries like the US we need NIP-82.

The US used to be a developed country

*mic drop*

Doctors and hospitals now work for health insurance providers in the US. They decide how to best treat your illness not your doctor...

Also being control who can write and read your health data should be the norm.

Now, it's practically the same as sharing your private keys around wherever you need something related to your health. There are multiple copies and you cannot delete anything.

Estonia has the system where you can see who has visited your data and you can grant / revoke access at will (https://digiexpo.e-estonia.com/healthcare/national-electronic-health-record/).
