My US colleagues at cointelegraph are calling Rfk Jr clinically insane for spreading vaccine misinformation… they say he has zero chance of becoming president.

I’ve been totally caught up in the bitcoin mania of RFK following his appearances at BTC Miami.

I don’t care for his politics as I’m not American - I simply support him coz he’s a bitcoiner.

Does he have a chance?

Thoughts on the news of him wanting to back the US Dollar with Bitcoin?

I don’t really know enough about money to understand whether backing fiat with a hard currency could work.

Generally speaking I want human intervention as far away from money as possible 🙃

I don’t like many of his policies either, but embracing #Bitcoin could go a long way toward fixing broken incentives. Who knows if he could actually get pro-bitcoin policies passed.

That being said, I don’t think he has a chance, especially as a Democrat. I don’t think a pro Bitcoin presidential candidate has a chance this cycle. But I don’t think an anti-bitcoin candidate will have a chance next cycle.

He has a chance, but not a very good one.

Also non US but looks indeed very, very unlikely he gets elected. But just bringing the bitcoin topic on that level is pretty big imo

I think he has a chance, but it’s unlikely. Our system is truly “rigged.”

Regardless of “his politics,” the primary competition is:

Subject A: Demented, can barely speak. Frail. Old AF. Lifelong politician.

Subject B: Narcissist. Divider. Power hungry traitor. Only cares about himself.

No. But more talk about normalising Bitcoin becoming accepted across the Globe is useful

It’s an uphill battle and unlikely. The big money is not going to flow in his direction, but large parts of this country love his message.

Probably not. American politics is a shit show. Sifting through the shit to find the truth will most likely be impossible 🫣

I don’t think he has any real shot to win but he is shifting the Overton window

Just crazy to think that we have presidential candidates talking and promoting bitcoin. Meanwhile there are still nocoiners and shitcoiners who think bitcoin is a Ponzi scheme or that it will be replaced by “better” tech

I'm not from the USA but monumental changes in society happen due to new technologies, not politics. He needs Bitcoin more than Bitcoin needs him. Interesting development though 👍

Not US citizens but family. I’m not convinced he is good for Bitcoin. But the alternatives aren’t great either. His stance on vaccines and autism is pretty bullshit. I’m not defending big pharma or govs and the handling of covid. My specific gripe is in the lack of scientific evidence to substantiate this specific claim.

As Bitcoiners we need to be careful we don’t fall for this notion that we want to support on single issue voting.

Let’s see how it turns out though, I’ll give him a shot if he can show he has more depth than just Bitcoin.

I agree with the sentiment his chances are low, but even candidates gaining serious popularity can change things (for good or bad depending on your view). Bernie Sanders dramatically changed the landscape despite losing every presidential nomination.
