Getting paid for writing on X vs. Nostr.

I haven't written on X and Nostr for the payment, but I've got some rough revenue / zaps numbers now.

Based on these numbers I guesstimate that building and writing on Nostr makes more sense than on X.

Does anyone have some more insights into this?

Any research, articles, anecdotal info etc?

This may be an important subject to get more info on in view of boosting Nostr user recruitment.

Thx in advance for boosting this note.

The greater Nostr community understands value for value and proof-of-work. You'll get out of Nostr what you put into it.

As a nostr user I prefer short form posts. Hard hitting memes shakes sats outta my wallet, as does well written notes.

Personally, with just my usual #Catstr notes and #InkblotArt I bring in, 2k sats per day, average.

I am also interested in this. Don’t have a lot of experience, but wrote some long form content on stacker.news and habla.news. Had way more resonance on stacker.news which unfortunately does not run on nostr =/

My experience is that short notes and memes get way more resonance and zaps than long form posts at this point in time.

Income from writing is an important consideration.

To me the larger consideration is that of censorship. It's a common occurrance to see someone spend months or years developing a following on a social media site only to be banned for saying something the censors don't like.

All that work is gone in an instant for a reason which is often arbitrary and subjective.

I agree. Perhap the lack of censorship will drive financial value as well. This is unchartered territory

As a nym, I recieve no dead bird bucks, but I've been zapped about 100,000 sats or so. Maybe another 100,000 sent to my BTCpayServer, but I ussually get those sats for answering questions.

I've been writing on nostr exclusively for several months now and sometimes I feel like I'm writing into the void, but I love the idea of writing for sats.

That being said, it probably makes more sense to create an audio version of my blog. I suspect streaming sats are more lucrative.
