I have nothing against sex workers, but in Nostr some of them are very annoying and more akin to spammers or beggars.

"Sex workers" is an invented term to make us not think about what these people are doing. Prostitution and pornography isn't harmless as they claim it is. You loose your intimacy and many cultures like African will exclude you from being married. No one marries a "porn star" there, it is shameful that your dick/pussy is visible for all on the Internet.
For me, the term "sex worker" means those for whom it is a professional activity and who work in the sex industry. This can be prostitutes, escorts, webcams, porn, onlyfans and everything.
Okay, it is good you know what is still behind it. For me it feels like someone wants to cover these activities up and"normalize" them. When something needs to be "normalized" it isn't normal.
