Could be a game changer for China.
Discussion
The Great Firewall could block specific relays, but brand new ones can pop up in an instant. It's too much of a moving target for them to block entirely. It's great. I hope a plethora of Chinese users start to use Damus. If that's the case, China will ask Apple to pull the app, and then Apple will cave to China again. But hopefully by that point many Chinese users will just start using web app clients.
There's also the issue of privacy of past events. One should be ready to burn its private key if in danger. I'm no techie, by it would be nice to know if client-relay comms are encrypted, so that key ID data for events is only disclosed at the relay. I'm thinking plausible deniability of certain data being originated from your phone.
