just use imgur , copy your image direct link (.png) and add it in your profile and the image will appear.

Profiles are stored on nostr entirely I believe so I get why it only accepts a URL for now since it's mostly just a proof of concept and keeps it so BChat doesn't need any custom backend. It's all nostr and the BCH chain (through Fulcrum)
