It does that by holding your daily spending on the Liquid side chain and swaps liquid to pay the lightning invoice you need to pay. Similarly you can create an lightning invoice for people who want to pay you but you'll receive in liquid BTC. That way you'll never have to open or manage any lightning channels but can still use lightning non-custodially with way lower fees than if you were to swap from bitcoin main chain to lightning like Muun used to do.
