It powers up now, but it just hangs at the boot screen and doesn't load anything.
I'm about to say fuck it and just buy a new motherboard.

What changed?
Different CPU.
Original one got fucked up.
5000 series Ryzen wouldn't power up. Needs BIOS update for it.
4000 series, same deal.
Got a cheap 3000 series. Motherboard finally makes it through POST, but then the BIOS screen comes up and nothing happens.
This motherboard is the only Asus motherboard I've ever had that doesn't have a BIOS flashback port on the IO panel so you have to load an operating system and use an app to update the BIOS.
I'm probably out on thin ice here, but is the CPU sufficient for the power requirements?
Yes it's making past POST so all's good there and that also means no mismatch between CPU and RAM I think.
