Yes, you can also mute and report him. Veritas is already more muted than followed, so most users are reacting to his content in a bad way and he is now disappearing from more and more feeds. Filters exist in some form on every client. The beauty of nostr is that users can use multiple clients at the same time. But each client decides what and how they want to show, with or without options to users. Relays are the same. They are all private property of somebody else. Nostr just allows you to move between clients (or build your own) very easily.

Don't you think that the mass reporting/muting will be used to attack accounts in the future? Just like it is on X

They tried already. It didn't work. But I am sure they will try again. If you are afraid of that, make sure to pay your relay to store your data. The free ones wouldn't even blink before deleting your content. They don't have the money to risk.

What data do the relays hold? Don't the relays simply facilitate the post to Nostr? Do they also collect data like our emails and IP addresses which could be used for doxxing If they leak it?

They can see your IP and everything you are looking at in the app. So, make sure you trust your relays. They know exactly who you are and what you are doing on Nostr.

I understand this is not Amethyst's problem but If there is wide spread adoption of Nostr, this will leave many people vulnerable to doxxing. Especially non-technical people who don't understand the relay/client system. Honestly, all of this makes Nostr feel just like X.

Also, there are a few tor relays available

What are tor relays?

Think of it like a vpn to the dark web, or secret internet that hosts websites or services

Tell your nostr client to use tor and add the tor relay and boom, safe and secure

Good to know 😉

Any app, in any protocol, will need to get posts from some type of server. That server will always know about you. The beauty of nostr is that you can choose a server you trust. On X, you have to trust the company and there is no way around it.

Okay thank you Viktor !

I'll remind you of this reply I made, since you conveniently ignored it the first go-around.

I disagree with you. It is spam. By these numbers and content (selling shit no one wants over and over again) it is the definition of spam.

Its free shit!
