Now officially way more live streams happening on Nostr than I realised. And way more diverse

- irl lives

All kinds
Bring it on!

I wonder how one might filter them
Ie a feed that shows live streams around certain subjects
It's still early days but if hosts tag their lives with certain categories then a UI could filter them
Does anyone block these out on Nostr calendars? We have the tools for prospective attendees to plan for these live events in advance, but I don't think the organizers are using the tools to do so. Am I missing something?
You aren't missing anything. The clients just aren't there yet but I agree it's totally doable. Here's the sort of UX I'll imitate for nostr:nprofile1qqsgthcq5tm2jxz9x4xg6tvlh26qq2actdpztwh2kc86lvjc03gr36spzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuurjd9kkzmpwdejhgtcpzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumn0wd68ytnzv9hxgtcpzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuurjd9kkzmpwdejhgtckgrenr

That'll help. The NIP exists, and some calendars have been made (screenshots from NostrCal and ZapDash attached), but there's either 1) not a way to discover, 2) or find a reliably populated, 3) and then remind oneself, to attend virtual events. Either the relays or calendar clients aren't communicating the events, or organizers just aren't sharing them using the calendaring tools properly.
nostr:npub1ve8qwrlztemdmnh62jffcr0y9m9dpqgqjdg8ufx7gc3qw5wdk74qyv9ka6 has a solid calendar for meat space gatherings. But we have no digital equivalent.
