I think it's a bad thing. Society is already broken, and "favoritism" breaks it even more. And the worst part is that it's not just in the US 😅.

can't say for US, tbh

personally i don't agree bc there are infinitude number of groups, some of which has contracted values, so fighting for everyone gives less results. also, there are groups that i don't share morals with or even those which consider me their enemy – should I also root for them?

Not all gay people wear flags of imaginary countries on their foreheads, and not all Republicans assault Mexican laborers.

Despite people being vastly different, they also have many similarities. Even adversaries on the battlefield likely dislike dying, which presents a case for achieving peace.
