The thoughts and emotions will come no matter what. We often think of them as good and bad. This is only partially true. More accurately there are some we want and some we don’t want.

When the thoughts and emotions we don’t want show up. It’s important to be kind to yourself. No amount of beating yourself up or judging yourself will make these thoughts go away. It will only make it more miserable when they do come.

It’s also much easier to move on to new thoughts and emotions when we are kind to ourselves. It reduces the emotional charge these thoughts have. Then you can move on to thoughts you actually want to have.
