Is Mars more likely to be hit with an asteroid because it is further out in the solar system, less likely because it is smaller; what about moons(?) Does a newly colonized planet with mutated humans qualify as backing up the human race or extending the light of consciousness or whatever, or is that a marketing scheme(?)

Want to send a robot to tell other beings that may one day make it there to explore that humans existed? Please do. Super amazing time capsule news point. Yet if they make it there, what is the mission?

Kinda like sending space probes with x-ray technology when we know it is harmful to life.

Or mass producing lead pipes because that is what is cheap and/or available technology.
