Recovering funds from a KeepKey hardware wallet after ShapeShift moved to a broken web interface that wouldn’t let me broadcast my transaction.

The network split before luke dashjr recognized the unintended hard fork.

For sure sending the first sizable transaction.

Conversely, now sending transactions is quick, comforting… feels like a super power.

Checking my Coinkite wallet and finding out all my BTC was gone

Unfortunately not. I had been using their hosted wallet for my BATMs back in the day. It was roughly two weeks before they were discontinuing the service that I got a call from customers saying the ATM wasn't sending BTC. Logged into my account and was devastated. Lots of hard learned lessons!

March '20 when I watched my leveraged buys get wiped and nearly liquidated.

It seems silly now that I'm aware of more plausible threats than simply a dramatic drop in price. At the time I didn't really know what I was trading.

It wasn't until this event that I took a really hard look at what could be a threat.

As long as there will be another block & only 21M bitcoin, there is little to fear.
