The first time I heard this song was about 14 years ago, on the back side of tumultuous life events. I went out with a friend to an outdoor open mic night at this tiny little bar that had a great patio with built-in tiki torches & fire pits all over. It was a bit of a showcase for a local landscaping company. A couple got on stage & announced that they were visiting from Ireland and wanted to do a song. They proceeded to perform this & I was wrecked. It was beautiful. Rocker girl had never experienced a moment of peace so deep to move her to tears before that. There was a photographer on site. After their performance she came over to me and showed me a picture of myself. She asked if I minded, and I asked her to email it to me. I hunted down the original song & added it to my playlists. For days, it kept running through my mind how these people ended up here in this tiny bar, in this little town, in the middle of nowhere, and completely turned me upside-down, and the photographer caught it. I'll never understand why it hit me so hard, but I still remember every detail. The wine, the fires, the temperature of the air. I don't think I've been the same since... definitely a little more at peace, if nothing else 😅 anyway... 😊
