I've read you can do other currencies (backed by bitcoin) with #cashu can anyone point me in the right direction?
Discussion
I'm guessing it's as simple as this? You pay the mint in BTC and get USD at the current exchange rate. If you redeem it you get BTC at whatever the exchange rate is at that moment? Or can the mint choose how it works?
Been playing with it I deposited 1052 Sats to mint.lnvoltz.com and got 1 USD ecash. Then made a #cashu token in #nutstash. Seems that ended up being 100 Sats and I can't "redeem" it due to a fee error. Some bug?
meow
what are you trying to do exactly?
from what I read you 1 USD of ecash in lnvoltz mint and 100 satoshi ecash in nutstash...
are you connected to same mint?
Not all mint accept all denominations of ecash, some are sats only, others also offer fiat based ecash. It is up to the mint operator
check out Broadwalkcash wallet, might be what you are looking to do
I'm just learning by doing 😊 So to explain I "bought" a token denominated in USD from lnvoltz. Then tried to send it and now the token is not valid. Looks like the token is in sats which means it's a bug. I'll try to fix the token tomorrow and report the bug if it is one.
#Broadwalkcash was able to claim it, thanks 😊
learning by doing is the way! happy you claimed the ecash
yeah I think it was probably because the first mint sent you ecash denominated in USD and the mint you had on nutstash was only accepting ecash denominated in sats.
keep learning, if you got more ecash question don't hesitate to tag me. This kitty loves nuts.
please remember the protocol and wallets are still very new, do not use ecash for large amounts or cold storage.
