There are a lot more reasons for private follows then you have covered here. E.g. I may want to private follow all the people I know in meatspace to avoid linking all of them to me, thus doxing all of us.
Same goes with follows of separate interests groups, e.g. someone who publically follows bitcoiners, snowboarders, and people associated to Boston, could make it easier for anyone to track down them down.
It could be. Maybe I didn't understand this private follow technique. 🧐😂
What I understand from what you are talking about is "grouping of followers"
It's like another point of view I'm talking about (I may have commented that way because I misunderstood) :)
It can hide followers. I may not want to show who I follow. (as on facebook)
It can be grouping followers. Like you said.
But I would like to see who is following me.
And I don't feel the need to hide myself. :)
