I would say money is an abstraction of both time and energy (and perhaps, human ingenuity) - and if the money is corruptible, then so are the uses of time, energy and creativity.

Would you say that all the time and energy spent to receive FIAT went in vain?
I wouldn't go that far... people are still able to survive, some even thrive on a fiat standard. But there's definitely a proverbial hole in that system through which time and energy can and are being siphoned away from the vast majority of people...

And I mean, for better or for worse, I have a fiat job right now. It's not a choice made from the heart, but from necessity, and as unproductive and uninspiring as it is from my personal standpoint, it is better than the alternative - which is - to starve and be homeless.
#V4V is nascent, most people haven't found #nostr and if they have - they don’t really zap much, #Bitcoin is still seen as a speculative and/or savings asset only - a circular economy as such seems to not really exist yet.
And in all honesty, if I was really providing as much value to people as I hoped and thought I would, I'd probably have found a way to at least support myself from doing so.
Alas, I haven't, and alas, the grind continues. Mining the fiat, buidling the Bitcoin infrastructure, shining the light in the darkness.
The road less travelled is not for the faint of heart.

I stick by the permaculture philosophy. Take a yield- which means start by harvesting one thing, or in this case, find one source of Bitcoin, then one service or good you can sell. It is amazing how orienting our mind to a thing is like a step that takes us in that direction.
I had one client who offered to pay me in bitcoin. I was beyond clueless at that time but I loved his enthusiasm and thought it would be another egg in another basket. 4 years later, a slow learn, but now I’m high on hopium, still fit in the clueless category, but less so. Good luck my friend.
