Would a Pixel 6a work?

Yes

I would like to help. Im relativly new to GOS and feel like will learn more by helping test. What's the time frame? I will be super busy all next week.

When the new Android 16 test releases are out I'll let people know. It will be a testing build likely distributed through other means so testers can uncover bugs with Android 16 to help it go to production.

We recommend users do this on a spare device with nothing sensitive.

Ok sounds good. I have an unlocked pixel 6a ready to go. I’m excited to help. Been loving the GOS experience.

I’m ready to go with an unlocked Pixel 6a. I’m a little confused as to where to install the test software. I don’t see any releases for 2025063000. Am I looking in the right place? Keep in mind I’m relatively new at this. Any help would greatly appreciated.

Android 16 builds are available OTA now in the Alpha/Beta channel.

Is the Alpha/beta channel on the GrapheneOS website?

I guess what I mean is, go thru the web installer instructions and select the new test software? Sorry for my lack of detailed knowledge.

I think I got it figured out. Joined Element for GOS chat rooms. Installed GOS on new 6a and going to switch update channel to alpha. Should I use a vpn on this device while I’m testing the software?

You can if you want. What you do on that device will be known to the ISP though.

And yes, you should switch update channel to Alpha

Oh got it. Thanks for your help!

Would love to help you guys out. I have an 8. Looking forward to hearing back.

I am in with my one and only Pixel 8.

Still need to try out an open source mobile OS

Been running iOS for over a decade now and really feeling like switching it up (at least on an extra device without affecting my daily driver) 📱
