I don’t know what a healthy town square environment entails, that is subjective. Nostr is what you make of it, there is no single entity telling people what they are allowed to say. That’s a good start?
I don’t see what this has to do with technical users. Nostr is for everyone.

I believe that just bring up your system default bitcoin lightning wallet. You only need to worry about that if you want to send or receive “zaps”, which are bitcoin micropayments.
This may be a total noob (and probably contentious) question: if I don’t have a wallet, which service is the best to start with?
Nah it’s a good question. Probably the most popular one, and the easiest for what people do on Nostr, is wallet of satoshi.
