#Bitcoin there is no such thing as a self-hosted wallet. It doesn't exist. What they're calling a "wallet" is just you knowing some words.

You choose 12 words, which derives a private key / public key pair on the Secp256k1 curve and sha256 hash the public key it into an address. Cool fact, the curve is just y squared = x cubed + 7. Which is more secure and faster to process than other curves. You don't have a wallet. You don't have custody you have knowledge. You just know some words.
