One of the comfrey cuttings you sold me last year. Some didn't germinate, but this one is doing great. I think I have trouble with fertility in my soil out in the field. This is our garden and we've been laying wood chips for several years now.

There's a few varieties of note:
Classic Comfrey: prolific and spreads - propagates from seed and root
Bocking #4: sterile seed, only propagates from root
Bocking #14: sterile seed, also only from root

I have the bottom two varieties of you need 🫡.
If you don't mind it spreading, which be mindful once comfrey is there it's almost impossible to kill, then go classic.

Insanely deep tap root than mines minerals to the surface
Polinators LOVE the flowers
Can be an amazing addition to compost
Can be fed to some animals as fodder
Sometimes called "bone setter" as it has amazing healinh properties
Make a pultice and apply the soft side of the leaf to wounds for rapid healing
Can't remove it once planted!

That’s looking good. I’ve got about 10 plants c coming back and looking healthy. I transplanted one into my big metal tomato planter that has better sun than the rest of my comfreys. I plan to make a better salve this year. I think my plants weren’t vibrant enough last year to make an effective salve.
