Germany 🇩🇪: The government passed a law that allows people to change their gender and name once a year.

German Family Minister Lisa Paus said a new law smoothing the way for individuals to officially change their gender had been passed, hailing it as "a great moment" for transgender and intersex people.

For those under 14 years of age, parents would submit the necessary declaration at the notary's office. Young people aged 14 and over can do it themselves, but only with parental consent. A family court would resolve conflicts within the family.
