That awkward feeling when the ISP sends out a technician and you know more about networking than they do. These guys are glorified cable pullers.

Glorified?
I hate when I have to call any support. I anyways want to be like can I talk to your level 4 person so that we're on the same page.
They literally are, they have no technical background other than cable pulling and coax signal strength
I have been battling Comcast customer service/tech support since they only offered cable and those old school clicky boxes.
Always bad. Always. Epically bad.
I once had a Verizon contractor come to my house and he would not stop sucking on a lollipop the ENTIRE time. And then he watched tv for like 30 min to “make sure it was working.”
Interesting bunch
Best way to get good service out of them is let slip that you work a much nicer job a few promotions up the networking career ladder. Some will respond by doing their best hoping you can get them a better job.
😂😬
Don’t call just fix it.
Like hanging on the phone to finally reach a REAL tech expert, knowing you just have to ignore dumb suggestions for 45 minutes before connected through to that one guy.
The ISP technician was THE ONLY guy to realize what my bitcoin server/miner was and encouraged me to keep mining. Some people are forced to do jobs they don’t like to make ends meet nothing is stopping these people from being exceptional participants to the network
Orange stripe, orange, green stripe, blue, blue stripe, green, brown stripe, brown
If you file a complaint with the FCC, most US ISPs will suddenly be aggressively trying to fix your problem (rather than aggressively trying to ignore it). Easy cheat code to skip first level support.
Im with Bell Canada Fibre Optic directly to the home 1.6GB subscription for the last 5 years now.
Zero down time in those 5 years, amazing speed, ping and reliability.
Never had to call support because there have never been issues.
When they first came to install the 10GBit Modem/Router, the tech noticed that our newly built house (bought with BTC) was also pre-wired with CAT6 cables to every room with a cat5 back up right beside each one.
He proceeded to attach adapters to the raw wires sticking out of each room and placed proper receptacles on everything to make it perfect.
I gave him a tip but he didnt have a lightning wallet, so it was cash.
I guess I am the only one here who can't complain.
Yep. Had that happen to me too.
