Last week I visited Uvita, Costa Rica to make a documentary about living on bitcoin.

At some point we discovered an interesting phenomenon… food tastes better when you pay with bitcoin.

Also anecdotal, but compared to El Salvador the merchants/locals seem to understand bitcoin at a deeper level.

Currently in the depths of the editing but stoked to share when it goes live.

Not super related to the topic, but I see that Bitcoiners generally eat what they pay for (unless there is something unhealthy and unrequested in the food such as seed oils).

With this in mind, maybe we could say that buffets, food waste, and gluttony are symptoms of the fiat system?

I like where your head is at. I haven’t read Fiat Food yet but the degradation of food quality in general can be correlated with the debasement of the base currency. Hedonic adjustments to CPI are another data point there.

I haven’t read Fiat Food either, but I’ll add it to my reading list :) Yes, there’s definitely a correlation there!
