if you want to send a custom emoji then zap
and if you want to miss out on 3/4ths of sentiment analysis and engagement from real people who just didn't zap you, use primal?
It's an odd design choice, that even some primal-main users have complained about, which is why I can't help be suspicious it's a subtle nudge to silo users a lil bit. I'm not a Matt hater (actually like him, been a listener for years), but incentives are there and a fix is simple, so I can't help but wonder
It makes zero sense. We came to Nostr for free expression, from centralized platforms that limit your ability to choose a reaction that matches what’s on your mind. Emojis have been part of nearly every client since early 2023. Why would you intentionally omit this feature? It’s practically a form of censorship.
just count them in the reactions counter... it makes no sense if they just show in the notifications
Yes, I learned about this distinction, and thanks for responding (I'm sure it's a subject you've discussed before).
But it seems oddly limiting, and perhaps more importantly the reaction counter on the post is misaligned. Notifications are less permanent and easy to find than the stats under a post. Also, ngl, but my conspiracy brain goes to it being a deliberate type of nudge to silo things (if you know what I mean)
