it already has. pmOS, pinephone, librem 5, etc. people just need to develop for these.

Hardware seems mostly for R&D – it is improving. A #wifionly option could do well.

That is correct. Soon we have global internet thx to elon. Starlink works quite well…but need to keep going w more options, but wifi is right on point and offline-tech that is based in ☀️ thinking

Once they get to the fab, it’s a whole new set of issues :) For instance, there are standard libraries that keep the fab in control, similar to standard c library in software…that is closed as closed can be and includes other IP…they literally call it IP :)
