Picked up a 1/4 cow all packaged from a farm 10 minutes down the road. Very exciting .

In the next couple months I will be getting another 1/4 and a whole pig.

Always feels great to get meat into the freezer! And so close to home, that's a blessing.

Very nice, locally grown fresh meat is the best!

This is how it's done! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

I’m starting to look around for this in my area (PA). Can you tell me a little bit about the purchase? What was the cost if you don’t mind? Was it grass fed/organic type of deal? And how where the cuts broken down and was that your choice or predetermined from the source? Thanks.

I will tell you all I know and anything you want to know about it.

The cost was $8 CAD/lb. For the 1/4 it was $1232.

Great fed. Not sure about the entire process, but drug free. (I thought it said free drugs, imagine my disappointment)

As for the cuts it was up to me. There was an online cut list from the butcher to fill out. I think I just went with their recommendations.

After listening to nostr:npub15879mltlln6k8jy32k6xvagmtqx3zhsndchcey8gjyectwldk88sq5kv0n talk about breaking down primal cuts, I may try to tackle the next one myself.

Thanks for the info. I appreciate it

Feel free to ask anything about anything. I'm an idiot, but I like to help when I can.
