We managed to do Livorno-Prague (over 1100 km) under ten hours. We had to, our previous ferry got canceled and there's already a work week day after tomorrow. This fast traveling feels a bit weird tho. Americans won't get it with those large countries, but we ordered breakfast in italian, lunch in german and second gas filling was already in czech.

I'd like to travel route66 or something, to see how it is when countries and languages don't change every five hours.๐Ÿค” On the other hand changing countries is refreshing.

Unless it's fucking Austria. 100 or 60 km/h the whole way, wtf people.

The currency is the same, but there are definitely language differences. In Atlanta, the doorman couldn't understand me. I had a local cabbie, and couldn't understand him.

Each geographical region has unique customs too. The east is more formal than the west. How people treat you publically can drastically change within a days drive.

Do highway 101 from Washington state all the way down to San Diego and take highway 1 when it splits. World class drive.

Only did San Simeon to San Francisco on highway 1, but yeah amazing drive and awesome views.

Did you check out the Hearst castle?

Highway 1 is next level insane. You have to drive it. And the entire Oregon coast plus NorCal is unlike anywhere else Iโ€™ve seen.

Indeed, also the lighthouse, seen the sea lions, boardwalk in Santa Cruz, did beach at Pismo (I guess we drove further than to San Simeon).

Never been to Oregon and Sacramento was the most north part of Cali I have been to.

We drove for six hours and remained in Texas. Yes, it's hard for me to understand ๐Ÿ˜‚. And yes people and accents are very different across and within the states.

Yeah you can drive for hours and then stop in front of a Czech kolaches shop. :-)

Yassss!

sh*t... 10 hours away from here is still Chinafornia....

aka Calichina.

brb

I gotta go cry some.

Time to move to Jefferson. :-)

There' one here too!

What is up with so many states having little municipalities, counties, cities with the same name everywhere...?

So, in my ignorant level of knowledge here... Jeferson where? And why do you love it?

Yes, looking to be shilled. Hubs and I trying to figure out where we wanna land wen we take off from here.

๐Ÿ˜‰

It is a theoretical 51st state of the Union created after secession of the rural parts of NorthCal and the rural south of Oregon which both feel misrepresented, from their respective states.

Sounds about right. Like eastern Oregon wanting to secede Oregon to become part of Idaho.

Thank you for sharing. I have a property in Lake County, maybe I should look into moving over there... Who knows, they may succeed at their secession.

Makes me curious for sure!

Yeah, everything would be better without Austria... Traveling access the US is pretty cool. Yeah the language and the major brands are the same, but people, landscape, weather, etc. are all changing.
