Do you tell local stores that they should accept bitcoin?
I do from time to time, especially in situation when their payment lags or fails.
Their reaction most of the time:
They grin like I made a joke and reply something like „yeah, sure 😬“
Anyone similar experiences?
Always the same experience, they don't get it because they don't need it.
Most people are not able to understand the root problems of their misery, they don't want to think about it and so they don't understand any solution.
Most people just want to complain but never adresss the problems or are demoralized to a point were they just nod and say I can't change anything anyways.
I would also add that most have no idea what Bitcoin is or at least that it is a real payment possibility. They probably think it’s a big joke or only for criminals or whatever 😄

Man this is so true and something I just realized in its whole scope while the flu lasted. You can tell people fucking anything and if you repeat it often enough and provide some „science“ that no average joe will check anyways, they believe it.
„science just found that the sky is green. It’s because of a newly discovered bla bla“ and people would actually say it’s green 😵💫

By putting the word equality infront of it and demonizing everyone speaking against it.
The mentioned example still feels like a fever dream but it's real
I could rant about it forever so let’s just say it’s sad. Really sad, especially for the children with sheep parents ☹️
I managed to set up two local businesses with BTCPay / LNPOS but neither of them kept it long-term because they didn't like the volatility. They just want GBP into their tills/the bank. They can't afford to hold long-term and they don't want the hassle of conversion short term 😟
At least they were open and tried. But I mean what sales volume are we talking about that they have to exchange immediately 🤣

Yes, I got the same reaction of shop owners when they are cool-funny.
When they are truly open-minded, they ask: "But how about my accounting system? What the heck is Lightning? How about taxes?"
Then it becomes a longer conversation ;)
