This is just a reminder that most relays out there can nuke their data at any time. Their data is your data. If you care about your data, you should run your own relay. Running your own relay puts you in change of your social graph.

Let's imagine that 10 million nostriches have a personal relay. If I follow, for example, 1000 nostriches, does the client have to make 1000 connections?

If people would only publish their notes to their one and only personal relay, yes. People should utilize several relays.
