This is just a reminder that most relays out there can nuke their data at any time. Their data is your data. If you care about your data, you should run your own relay. Running your own relay puts you in change of your social graph.

Generell question about relays, I have got my own private relay which is available via tor, but I understand it’s saving a note only when I am connected at the time of sending and it will not submit this later eg when I sent 5 notes and I connect afterwards, correct ?

Wasn’t there a website for relay stats I am still trying to get my head around it when and how and where to connect best too, removed some bigger ones and work rather with mod sized ones with true user engagement and would be happy to pay for this as well

If people would only publish their notes to their one and only personal relay, yes. People should utilize several relays.
Hi Derek, when you set up a relay, does it retrieve old notes from other relays, or does it only record new notes? Start9 makes it so easy and it’s wonderful, but I don’t know how to access and audit the data. I don’t have the skills to look under the hood. I wish there was some kind of relay UI for normies on Start9. I know I can disconnect from all the relays except my own to see what I get, but there’s got to be an easier way. In the future, it would be great to have the ability to save pictures and videos as well.
So far mine has retrieved all data I've ever posted on nostr. I set it up about a month after I arrived here.
I'll have to have a look tomorrow to confirm that. I'd also recommend running a cleint too and adding your relay to it.

If you have a nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll server theres on in the community market place. Unfortunately they don't have, as yet, any video guides about using nostr.
