Yeah... We kept this quite a secret... 😀
But why must we have email attached?
Because we need to notify the receiver who sent them the SATs. We could also add your Lightning ⚡ Address to the email we send out to receiver but it might be confusing for them, considering he / she is a total newbie.
Would be very confusing adding LN address too...

The limit here is the length of the text message. We need to have a message that informs the receiver and include a link that is long enough so it can not be easily brute forced.
On another note, maybe we should allow to send to email without the sender having a linked email address. This way, you could send SATs by email to anybody and can decide to add as a message any data that you want. So, you can add an email address as comment to receiver or remain fully anonymous.
