yes, but be really careful when you start, start with very small doses, like 1 drop a day, and be sure you have at least an extra teaspoon of salt to ensure your kidneys clear anything it stirs up
the important thing to understand about halides is they are very prone to reaction and thus it is very easy to disrupt one halide with another
the iodine will dislodge chlorine and bromine and fluorine, in either elemental bonds or as ionic acids, and cause them to be released from cells and travel into the blood, where they will then further react with other halides they bump into around your system
what this means is that if you have a lot of bromine or fluorine in your system, after you take iodine, there will be a similar amount (atoms, basically) as you took in of iodine, of whatever it knocked out of place, and in the case of fluorine and bromine, this can have quite nasty effects
first of all there is neurotoxicity, as you may know fluorine in more than a certain dose rate in your blood will stop nerves working and it causes a nervousness that is very unpleasant, an increase in tremor
the bromine will cause sleepiness, and you almost are guaranteed to experience a little bit of this first few days or weeks of using it, and it will always be fixed by ingesting salt, which causes blood salinity to rise and the kidneys respond by increasing elimination of salts overall, which then reduces the levels of these toxic elements that the iodine has loosed
fluoride builds up especially in bones and glands, and both fluorine and bromine definitely contribute to thyroid regulation problems which can cause mental illness
so, anyway, that's the brief version of it, Dr David Brownstein is a good source of info, there is tests you can do on your urine to ensure that your iodine intake is not letting too much of this toxic stuff out
in one of his video talks he showed a picture of a some clothing of woman who was in early stages of breast cancer, and taking lugol's caused so much bromine to be released it stained her bras with the characteristic brown stain of bromine (it's more dirty brown where iodine is a more orange/ochre)
don't take this lightly, you MUST ensure that you start real slow and ideally you would monitor your output of these toxic halides to ensure that you aren't dosing too high for your level of contamination
